Fish Pass Phase 2
Phase two of the Marlborough Fish Pass has been successfully completed.

Following the 2012 success of the Town Mill fish pass, this secondary one has enabled fish to move from the Mill Pool at Cooper's Meadow back to the main channel.

Reopening sections of the river gives wild fish a much better chance to thrive.

Funded by Defra's Catchment Restoration Fund the work was carried out by contractors and volunteers.

Fact Image
Chalk streams are fed by groundwater. They rely on autumn and winter rainfall to recharge the aquifer and maintain flows through the year.
