ARK is an action group.

We run a number of practical projects to improve and restore the chalk stream habitat. Much of the physical work is done by local volunteers.

We are actively campaigning to reduce water abstraction to a sustainable level.

Please click on the menu items on the left to find out more about projects we are involved in.

ARK was founded with the philosophy that it is an 'action group that will never hesitate to speak its mind or take action whenever necessary'.

By campaigning to protect and improve the river ARK has had a dramatic impact on the way the river is managed and monitored. The list of Kennet projects on the left shows some of the current activity on the Kennet.

ARK's members continue diligently to care about the River Kennet; to ensure that is it a healthy river and protected as a valuable resource.
