Cover Cropping for Biodiversity, Clean Water and Profitable Farming
Action for the River Kennet, North Wessex Downs and Catchment Sensitive Farming, working together, would like to invite you to a morning of discovery…. Come and view the cover crop demonstration plots and hear about the latest in cover crop biology, agronomy and technology, to help you to grow cover crops successfully on your farm. Cover cropping is increasing in popularity on farms in the UK, and has the potential to bring multiple benefits in terms of soil health and improved water quality. Dr Sarah Beynon, entomologist, Senior Research Associate at the University of Oxford, and founder of Dr Beynon’s Bug Farm will be exploring the complex relationships between the soil, plants and insects and investigating how cover cropping fits into the picture. George Hosier, host farmer, and Tim May (Kingsclere Estates) will outline their approach to realizing the potential of their soils. . From 9am until 1pm. More details and booking here
