Leaky loos

A single leaky loo can waste up to 400 litres of water per day – the equivalent of five full bathtubs - costing up to £300 per year for metered customers. They are quietly wasting water.

Leaky loos are one of the most common causes of unexpectedly high water use but aren’t easy to spot as the water just dribbles away down the pan, so they often go unnoticed.

This is bad for the river and, if you have a water meter, this is also bad for your pocket.

This is what a leaky loo looks like.

Here is some great advice on how to detect a leaky loo.

Even if you don’t pay for your water on a meter, check your loo and if it is leaking get it fixed.
Every drop of water you save will be a drop more in the river.
