ARK Community Riverbank Walk Morning
Date: 05 Oct 2024
Location: Kintbury
Organiser: Anna Forbes
Description:
A very special opportunity to walk a delightful route along the Kennet chalk stream riverbanks within The Wilderness, at Kintbury and a chance to learn about our P4N project, carrying out river habitat improvements at this site.

The public morning walk is approximately 3km  (1.8 miles)

In the afternoon there will be our member's afternoon walk, which is approximately 5.6km (3.5 miles)

Both are circular routes.

This project is part of the Partnerships for Nature programme which is led and administered by the North Wessex Downs National Landscape Partnership (NWDNL). The NWDNL published a Nature Recovery Plan identifying priorities to restore nature in the protected landscape.  This is one of seven sites where conservation effort will be focussed, kick-starting delivery against this plan.

The Partnerships for Nature programme, and this project, is funded by Defra's Species Survival Fund. The fund was developed by Defra and its Arm's-Length Bodies. It is being delivered by The National Lottery Heritage Fund in partnership with Natural England and the Environment Agency.
