Care for the Kennet - Drought 2012

After two dry winters, river and aquifer levels in the Kennet were low, with many reaches having dried up completely over the long winter.  Heavy rains in April, May and June 2012 brought welcome respite, but a long hot spell could still cause problems.  Advice an news on dealing with a drought was issued.

ARK worked with Thames Water on the 'Care for the Kennet' project, which involved schools and the community learning more about the river, and taking practical steps to save water.
