EGM 2007 An EGM will be held at 12 noon on Thursday 19 July at Durnsford Mill House to consider a proposal to adopt the Charity Commission's 'standard form articles for small charities' (details at http://www.charity-commission.gov.uk/) and the following objects:
The OBJECTS
The Charity's objects (the Objects) are:
(3.1) To conserve, protect, rehabilitate and improve the rivers, streams, watercourses and water impoundments of the catchments comprising the River Kennet and its tributaries including adjacent river catchments, estuarine and coastal areas.
(3.2) To advance the education of the public, corporations, schools or any association, local authority, administrative or governmental agency or public body or representative body in:
(3.2.1) the understanding of rivers, river corridors and catchments, including their fauna, flora and economic or social activity
(3.2.2) the understanding of river catchment management
(3.2.3) the need for, and benefits of, conservation, protection, rehabilitation and improvement of aquatic environments. This is an important step towards achieving full Charity Status for ARK. The meeting will discuss the objects and any other business relating to charity status.
